Head writer Devon Giehl and I had been pushing for a short story series for The Dragon Prince for years when, after the release of Season 4, we found the perfect opportunity. "Reflections" provides canonical peeks into scenes unseen for the past season, while also setting up threads for what was to come.

Our series writing team was tapped to create canonical, limited narratives, which myself and Giehl then co-edited and reviewed. For our visuals, I decided to lean into a simple, sketchbook look evoked in our show's end credits, so I tapped series concept artist and character designer Caleb Thomas. In our Volume 2 push, as these stories benefited from additional art, I also provided supplementary illustrations on top of art direction.
