Learning Blender by reverse-engineering a corrupted Arcane weapon for real-world fabrication.

Curious about the tools behind game-world creation, I began teaching myself Blender in late 2025. To push the learning curve, I chose to recreate the corrupted version of Jayce’s hammer from Arcane, whose twisted, molten form removes the comfort of precise technical symmetry. I used screenshots from the show and official references released from the artists when available. When Fusion360 proved too rigid for the organic shapes required, I pivoted to Blender and rebuilt the asset with a more sculptural workflow. I also rethought the construction through the lens of real-world fabrication by introducing “windows” in the molten gold shell that expose the turquoise core beneath, simplifying the geometry and making the design viable for 3D printing. I'm excited to move forward with printing and painting this model.
